Every 16-Year-Old In Sweden To Receive a Copy of Chimamanda Adichie’s “We Should All Be Feminists”

According to the Swedish Women’s Lobby, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s book is being distributed as a gift to all Swedish high schools. The book, based on Adichie’s highly successful Ted Talk, was translated into Swedish and released just this week, and the distribution of the book is in the hopes that teachers will integrate it into their teachings.

Our hope is that the Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie text will open up a conversation about gender and gender roles, starting from young people’s own experiences,” stated Albert Bonnier publisher Johanna Haegerström. The video above was Chimamanda’s greeting from the official launch, at Norra Real High school in Stockholm.

Let’s not forget that this is the same Ted Talk that was sampled in the infamous Beyonce song, Flawless:

Good on ya, Sweden.
